Vista - cannot telnet into Reality databases

Under Vista, the default folder for users is C:\Users\"user id". The Reality MS DOS command ‘listdb’ would confirm this.

These folders are only accessible by the owner, "user id", of the folder.  Hence the telnet connection, that always connects with a user id of Reality User, cannot see the folder where "user id" made the database and hence generates the error ‘Invalid database name’.

It would be inappropriate for Reality to change the permissions on C:\Users\"user id" so this user should remove the database and then create a folder for databases in a common system area, e.g. C:\Dbases. Make sure this folder is accessible by everyone, which should be the default under Vista unless any security settings have been modified.  The database can then be made in this folder: cd \Dbases - e.g. using mkdbase –N "database_name".

Now telnet access to the database should be possible.
